Arrive and Drive
This event is where drivers arrive during open practice
sessions and pay to ride a kart for a set period of
time (or laps). Each driver has their name registered
on the system. They are placed into a ride slot with
other drivers, typically lasting for 10-15 minutes.
A ticket is automatically printed for the driver, indicating
their ride or heat number including their name plus
other information that may be customized. TV monitors
situated around the track call drivers when it is ready
for their turn to drive. When their race is called,
the drivers go to the pits and get into a kart and then
take part with other drivers in their practice session.
Normally, as one group are out on the circuit, another
group is being prepared in the pits ready to race as
soon as the previous heat finishes ensuring the whole
event runs smoothly and efficiently.
Group Events
The real power of the ROC Race Management software is
highlighted when managing large groups of people. Group
races are often referred to as corporate races as the
groups are normally colleagues from the workplace. Each
driver competes against the other drivers in the event.
Each event is booked in advance and the group event
may last from one hour to 8 hours on average. The track
is exclusively booked by the group. Each driver races
in one or more races depending upon the complexity and
duration of the event. Events may be made up from two
races and a final to many tens of small races over the
course of an afternoon. An overall winner normally emerges
at the end of the days’ racing.. Drivers accumulate
points that are awarded for either finishing position
in each race. TV Monitors situated around the track
display the points leader board so drivers can chart
their progress as the races unfold. The race management
software automatically organizes the in advance), based
around the competitors that are taking part and the
format that is selected. Our easy to use templates make
it easy for track managers to implement these kind of
events and the software ensures the day runs smoothly.
Competition Races
The ROC Race Management software manages competitors
taking part in championship races. Each competitor normally
drives their own kart, fitted with their own personal
transponder and carrying their own driver number on
the front of the kart. The system registers the drivers
as they arrive for their meeting or in advance. The
race organizer can setup the race structure, race duration
and assign drivers to the various races for the event.
Different points systems can be applied to different
races. Drivers can be automatically mixed up for qualification
races, for example, each driver is allowed two qualification
sessions. The software will calculate the false grid
positions in advance for the various classes.
Endurance Racing
An endurance race is where teams compete against each
other in a race normally lasting several hours. Each
team is made up from 2 or more people. Drivers swap
throughout the race during pit-stops and race to complete
the most laps in the race duration. The event normally
starts with a timed practice session. The starting grid
of the race can be determined by their team number (random)
or by their qualifying times during timed-practice,
or in reverse qualifying times (best team starts from
behind). Various options exist. The system can manage
upto 60 teams in any one race and with as many drivers
in each team as required. Detailed race reports list
the laptimes for each team and highlight pit stops and
black-flag penalties and allow team captains to compare
like-for-like laps and study strategy.
Club or league meetings
Race Manager allows events to be run over a long period
of time. Races may be saved to disk and then restarted
at any time in the future. A group of drivers that make
up a league can managed from start to finish until the
league produces an overall winner. For example, the
members may meet weekly for a series of races over a
6 month period. The system is successfully used to manage
cadet clubs, pub-leagues, solicitors leagues, bank leagues,
employee leagues, and leagues amongst the workers at
the circuit.
There is no limit to the possibilities….
Templates and Examples
We include with the software templates and examples
that help new users understand the possibilities of
the system. During on-site installation and training,
we customize these to suite your individual requirements
and ideas on how wish to operate.
